Google to Launch Fast Share for Android Smartphones

Google attempted to provide users with easy local sharing functionality; this gave birth to the Android Beam.
But the function was removed in the Android Q developer preview. Android Beam was developed under the NFC-based sharing technology and was introduced first in Android version 4.0. NFC makes it possible to place your phone back and back in order to move photos, videos, and other files from a user to another.

But very recently, another information was released on the start of another giant technology referred to as “Fast Share,” which is similar to the Apple Airdrop on Mac and iOS. The Fast Share can be used to share images, and other essential files on your phone, URL, and snippets of text to devices nearby even without internet connections.

This service makes use of Bluetooth and Location, so it must be enabled too in order to initiate handshake and then transfer files over a Wi-Fi connection. This will make the transfer of large files quicker and easier than on Android Beam.

The Fast Share will be rolled out on Android 10 and will carry almost the same function with Airdrop solution. The released date has not been yet confirmed, but it is currently available in Android Q Beta for some device
